Sinossi del romanzo Kaleidoscopio di Enzo Randazzo
È una vicenda di reincarnazione, con un io narrante al femminile, che si snoda in varie epoche storiche. Ambientata nel castello di Lamale, nel Duecento, ne sono protagonisti Oretta e Ciapo, la figlia di Anselmuccio dei Visdomini ed il suo ritrattista, Ciapo, che la sceglie come modella e se ne innamora ricambiato, suscitando appetiti e pericolose gelosie. Dopo una misteriosa morte violenta di Oretta, i due si reincarnano, nella seconda metà dell’Ottocento, in Aline ed Emanuele Navarro della Miraglia, che vivono le loro vite nei salotti francesi tardo romantici, tra intellettuali prenaturalisti – predecadenti e pittori impressionisti, al caffè Biffi della Milano scapigliata e preverista e nella Sicilia postunitaria. La loro terza reincarnazione avviene nell’Italia contemporanea. Oretta – Aline è Marilena, figlia del Capomafia Mendalà, Ciapo - Emanuele è Gigi, sardo, commerciante di vini, viaggiatore ed incorreggibile dongiovanni. Iniziata alla droga suo malgrado, Marilena ne percorre tutte le tappe, mentre Gigi diviene un alcolista, che vede naufragare la sua vita coniugale e professionale, tra viaggi di piacere, di lavoro nel mondo ed esilaranti avventure. La vicenda di Marilena si sviluppa sullo sfondo delle storie di violenza mafiosa che si intersecano con quelle della sua famiglia, dagli anni 70 ad oggi. La Mafia è raccontata nella sua poliedricità: nella sua brutalità, ma anche nella sua radicata connessione con la società. I due, probabilmente, si incontrano e vengono salvati e redenti dall’Amore…. Un Kaleidoscopio di contesti storici, valori, illusioni, passioni, brutalità, personaggi e vicende che si intrecciano spezzando ogni limite spazio – temporale, per continuare a sperare e a credere nella Bellezza di esistere e vivere.

Kaleidoscopio is a story of reincarnation, of feelings and eroticism, with a female narrator, which lives throughout history. The tale is it set in Lamale's castle, in the thirteenth century, the protagonist is Oretta, the daughter of Anselm of Visdomini. The painter Ciapo chose her as his model and he falls in a reciprocated love with her, arousing attractions and dangerous jealousy. After the mysterious violent deaths of Oretta, the protagonists both reincarnate in the second half of the nineteenth century, in Aline and Navarro Emanuele Miraglia, who live their lives in the French salons of the late-Romantics years, among intellectuals prenaturalist - predecadent and impressionist painters. Other moments of Emanuele in Italy are set into the Biffi's coffee in a disheveled and preverist Milan and in the post-unification Sicily. Their third reincarnation take place in the contemporary Italy. Oretta - Aline is now Marilena, the daughter of the Mafia-Boss Mendalà, Ciapo – Emanuele, instead, is Gigi, a Sardinian wine merchant who is a traveler and an incorrigible womanizer. Started on drugs, Marilena goes through all the stages of her addiction, while Gigi becomes an alcoholic man who sees wrecked his married and professional life by the leisure travel, working around in the world in some hilarious adventures. The story of Marilena develops against the background of the stories of Mafia violence that intersect with those of her family, since the 70' years to now. The Mafia is told in its versatility: in its brutality and in its rooted connection with society. The two probably will meet and will be saved and redeemed by love .... A Kaleidoscope of historical contexts, values, illusions, passions, brutality, so, where characters and stories intertwine breaking all limits of the space - time, to continue to hope and believe in the beauty of being and living.
